Koi leather cuff bracelet, medium

Japantown Collection - Leather Cuffs

The Japantown Collection is named in honour of the area of Vancouver where my studio is located. Right in the heart of the Downtown Eastside, Japantown was one of the original settlement areas and home to Vancouver's original Japanese inhabitants. Once a thriving area, there are still remnants of that time, such as the Japanese Language Academy, one street over from the studio.

The jewellery features etchings taken from traditional Japanese fabric dyeing stencils. Once etched into the metal, each piece is individually cut out, filed, sanded, formed on a doming block, patinated, and soldered, wired or riveted. All done by hand, each one is unique and one of a kind.

These leather cuffs are suitable for men or women and if the sizes don't fit you, can be ordered to size.

Made from high quality American made Horween oiled leather, this cuff bracelet features an etched copper plate with a Koi fish design, taken from a traditional Japanese fabric dyeing stencil. The leather is very soft and lovely deep reddish brown colour. The cuff has a brass stud closure, which does not have any nickel plating, nor do the rivets holding on the plate.

The cuff circumference when closed is 7.5". The cuff is 2" wide at the largest end. To size your wrist, measure around your forearm, about an 1 1/2" up from your wrist bone, to make sure it will fit given the width of the cuff.
